“You’re not even eating, so that whole argument before was pointless.” Matt shook his head and retorted, “They don’t have black tea at Guelaguetza. And this place is twenty-four hours.” The only saving grace on the menu for the merc was the mighty breakfast food selection. Instead of doing a lot of reading and a lot of drooling he told the server to bring him the best pancake plate they offered, not trusting the judgement of a stranger but just trusting pancakes. When Matt asked his patrol-date to hand him honey for his tea he was passed the mustard instead, ‘accidentally-on-purpose’. Matthew could smell the pancakes before they hit the table. It was an impressive stack but not exactly what Wilson had in mind. “My stomach can’t possibly handle this kind of blasphemy.” He’d wanted classic, he didn’t think in a million years he’d be brought something that resembled his four year old circus birthday party on a plate. While he scared the waitress away with his obscenities (not towards her but arguing with himself) Matt promptly switched their drinks. His vision was impaired but his mind was sharp. “How about we trade, and I promise we can have Mexican next time.” Wade’s eyes narrowed. They did a take between the two mugs, staying silent while the redhead innocently smiled at him. He wasn’t very bright but he’d already learned a lesson about trust tonight. “No, thank you.”
